Yup. However, proliferation of mitochondrial DNA doesn't necessarily require inbreeding (although there was more than likely a fair amount of that going on); it just takes one prolific breeder with a seriously dominant, beneficial genetic mutation.
...so Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden. Wait...so two people originally and eight left after the Great Flood? Doesn't that make all of us horrifically inbred?
