The similarities are that both the rebels and the Trumpers still were stubborn little cockroaches after their rebellions were squashed. One with taxes, one with politics.
Looks like you may also be thinking about what the founding fathers would have thought about Trumpism. I think Washington would be very much FOR peaceful protests but would have had a violent, pro-King George mob shot.
Washington had people with several issues under his command and most of the time he tolerated them. But when he noticed favoritism to king George he quite literally shot it down.
