It is hyped. Some medias and politicians just use it as a tool to enrage people so that they can bring communism in America. Our media is literally working against our own country. About 40-60 years ago, blacks did face some real discrimination and racism. Nowadays you can offend someone by literally looking at them in a different way than you might look at your closest friend, especially if that friend is white. And Critical Race Theory essentially teaches that all white people are born racist and that whiteness = racism. That's not even logical.
And, blacks are not the only people that have dealt with oppression. Before the whole white and black problem happened, whites oppressed whites, blacks oppressed blacks (guess who sold black slaves to white people), and many communist countries have dealt with oppression. The whole Myanmar problem is another instance of oppression.
Americans are currently being taught to despise their own country despite how much more comfortable it is than many other countries. Our idea of oppression right now is quite pampered, but that may change in 5-10 years
Hope this helped :)
