It's not mandatory for us (yet) but many - on my post, at least - have had their poke. There are some SMs that are concerned about the FDA not lending it's approval as well as the various odd deaths that have occurred for those who were healthy but died shortly after getting vaccinated. It also doesn't help matters that COVID seems to have little effect against healthy individuals and that we've had fully vaccinated personnel contract the Delta variant.

All that said... I still advocate for the vaccination. We get stuck with so much crap, what's one more inoculation. Plus, if it goes terribly wrong, we have the benefit of having the government to monetarily pay for the screw up.

All of THAT said... I sincerely hope you're actually a service member... otherwise, using the image of those who serve to back this or that point is kinda bullshit. Much like politicians conveying empty platitudes to "our men and women in uniform", unless you've served, keep us out of your mouth. But, I assume you've served... just felt like venting.

I served and (and so has all the older generations in my family tree for a century past) I find that using the event represented by this photograph to promote a blatantly politicized leftist generated policy to be revolting. Were I inclined in my old age to get the various required vaccines for a form of influenza with a 99.8 percent survival rate -- when it is known that one can still get the virus after vaccination, I now wouldn't do so because I find the Left's proclivity to SHIT on this nation in general and in this incident in particular . . . highly offensive. They and their vaccines can f**k off.

You're correct. For we plebs, the choice of whether to get the vaccine shouldn't be a political issue but one of overall health. Those that are considering it should speak with a physician - preferably one that knows their medical history - and make the decision for themselves. But the decision needs to remain an individual one.

Where it becomes political is the very moment the government makes it mandatory, holds your freedoms hostage until you get it or uses it as a cuddle against their political opponents for political capital. That, as you pointed out, is not a uniquely left or right thing... it's always disgusting to witness no matter which "side" it's coming from.
