I lived in Illinois for a year as a child, Of course it was the year the temperature got down to sixty-seven degrees below zero with wind chill. :)

Winter cold and snowy
Spring rainy and nice
Summer hot and stormy
Fall coldish but nice

Although not sure about the cold and snowy.
But they all sound like noticeable changes in the weather.
