I’ve spent more time than I care to admit pleading for Covid sanity. Time to stop worrying and let God sort it out.

That’s a mega-cringe. | image tagged in my body my choice,pregnant woman,pregnant,antivax,anti-vaxx,science | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Is basically the anti-vaxxers’ argument. Nevermind the fact that, like a pregnant lady drinking and smoking, their selfish actions pose a direct and measurable threat to others, as predictable by science as the sun rising — to borrow a phrase by Dr. Fauci.

Despite the obvious known risks, we haven’t criminalized pregnant drinking/smoking, or made Covid vaccines mandatory, and we never will, because this is America, dammit.

So, it’s become a matter of trying to coax and cajole the vaccine-skeptical into dropping their hesitancy. It’s tough to sort out how much vaccine resistance is motivated by “true” concerns about the “side-effects” (what little there are), or whether it’s a generalized skepticism toward anything being pushed by the government or, especially, by Democrats. Personally, I suspect it’s the latter.

Well. There is only way to find out for sure which one it is, and that’s for Democrats to stop pushing it, and see what happens.

I may still post about Covid from time to time, but I’m done wasting any more time arguing with hardcore anti-vaxxers. They’re not going to change their minds, and anyone inclined to listen to them over our professional public health officials has problems I can’t solve.

And so I choose freedom — their freedom, and my freedom.

Let God sort out the rest.

Yep. The moment the left says “you know what? F**k all y’all” is the moment they will all start to get vaccinated.

That’s what kills me, though. You can make people smarter. Teachers make you smarter. Books make you smarter. The news (the legit news) makes you smarter. Memes can even make you smarter. At least, I hope they’ve made me smarter and not dumber.

But you cannot make someone smarter who willfully chooses the path of ignorance and hate, day in and day out. There are sadly more of them out there than we’d like to think. Because it is, indeed, the easy path. Exercising our whole brains in order to become the full humans God intended us to be is the calling that is difficult.

So, learn to spot those kinds of people, and learn when to walk away.

partly agree. i'd say teachers help you realize your potential, but everyone's potential is different. and yes, some people decide that they're not going to grow. i can accept it, but it's hard when some are close relatives.

Get back to me in, what is it now, eight months? I told myself I'd wait one year after the widespread rollout for safety data to roll in before I decide to get it or not.
