It could have been, just as easily. (COTW offered that blocking somebody sends them to the bottom of their memechats — I have no idea if that’s true, but it would explain the discrepancy.)

You actually said at first that you never talked to COTW. Now it appears you’re admitting you spoke with him at least two months ago. Already an inconsistency here in your defense.

This creates what is known in the law, and in popular culture, as a “he-said, she-said” situation.

That doesn’t mean we throw up our hands and declare the accused (in this case, you) innocent. It means we have to assess the credibility of the parties involved, and their motives.

TBH, I know next to nothing about CrusaderOfTheWest. I therefore assume he is a person of average credibility who tells the truth most of the time.
