Regarding the Army issue, all men over 18 are essentially in the militia whether they know it or not if they've registered for selective service. Not exactly "well regulated" but they've taken the first step whether they know it or not.

Since the draft is no more why do we need selective service program. . .also if the females want to play solider with the males then how come they don't have sign up for selective service?

No one has said that the draft is no more, the draft is just not right now. You register for Selective Service in case they reinstate the draft. It's one less thing that the government has to do to get the machine up and running in time of national emergency (a malaprop for WAR). ("Selective Service" and "the draft" are really synonyms btw.)

I do agree that if women want to be in combat arms and the military is letting them, then yes, all women should be registered for the selective service. Furthermore, if they ever crank up the draft again, there should be no exemptions for college deferment, sexual orientation or identification, marital status or how many kids you have, etc.
