The number of people doing WELL, as in enough to prosper - disposable income, money to save every month, all that stuff - has largely not changed at all as a percentage. Really what you're bragging about is the percentage of people living in poverty so bad that we call it extreme, as opposed to a kind of poverty you expect us to be more happy about I guess?
