McCain was wrong about some things, but he was right about a couple big things — keeping bigotry out of the GOP, and preserving the peaceful transfer of power.

But dozens of defeated Presidential candidates, Republican and Democrat, have done so, and McCain was no exception.
Trump is the *only* one in our modern history, or ever to my knowledge, who never conceded.
Jan. 6 showed what happens when such speeches aren’t given, and our democracy will continue to labor under the consequences of that for who knows how long.
