If you think about it the Rebel Alliance was just people with guns. And ewoks. But the Empire was a technologically superior force and controlled everything. Or maybe CGI just improved.

I guess that makes sense. But why would they still not take advantage of the technology in the prequels. It should have advanced not degraded. Maybe there's a canon explanation i've overlooked

Yes, why no rebel battle droids, or Venators, or captured cloning vats, or other stuff like that

There was a massive shut down after the Clone Wars ended where the battle droids shut down and were scrapped, pretty much all the Venators were scrapped, and since like, 99% of the population didn’t know where the clones came from, how the heck are you supposed to know where to get cloning vats?

But they did get some gear like rotary cannons aka the blaster minigun.

I know what a rotary blaster is, and also, space junkyards, the Empire doesn’t guard those, they just dump shit in it and leave, they could get some factory equipment and make some droids, and the Spaarti cloning vats were a little more available, and also, the black market.

Well the black market would be expensive and since the Rebels didn’t have the time or resources to create battle droids due to being on the run.

Also, they just can’t go to Geonosis due to the planet being almost completely sterilized and since those factories need lots of workers to maintain it, which the Rebels probably couldn’t do.

Also, they do leave space junkyards guarded with the help of the Scrapper Guild

I know that, but it’s a guild, not the Empire, we see them steal shit in Rebels, so why not do it before that, Geonosis could have been automated, if the proper modifications were made. Or capture a Imperial factory station or whatever, and run with it.
