Why is it special to you?

I value being an American, I respect the flag, the national anthem because I know what life is like in a country that is anything but free. 4th of July is a reminder of all the men and women who sacrifice their lives to found this country, fight for its independence and try to better it everyday. Those who snub America and it's symbols, try to erase its history, try to only emphasize it's mistakes without seeing any good need to live for a day in a country that is not free. Their attitude would change real quick.

It's special to me because of the celebrations. Families come together, laugh, and talk. It's so sweet.

America has not been great in many moments in history. It's not my place to judge when. But I'm proud of it because every time we make an effort to fix ourselves and we have. I think everyone can agree that America and its people live under a constant drive to improve. Improve their lives, their children's lives, their neighbors' lives. Improve the government and the country. And on the 4th, we can look back and pat Americans on the back for 245 years of constant improvement.
