I actually had a private from Detroit I helped out look at me when I was talking to him and just stopped. He said Sir you are not racist. I thought that was a little strange but told him no I am not I just want the best for all my soldiers. I noticed they messed up his records and he was due thousands of dollars and 2 ranks higher than he had. They brought him in as a E-1. He should have been a E-3 with a college degree. His scores were not high enough to go to officer school yet. I also told him he could be a warrant officer too if he passes his school.
Good one, nukeman! That's something that civilians will never get, how you can take people from all walks of life and make them a team where everyone wants everone else (aka the team) to succeed.
