So, that's a lot of not-true stuff. And it doesn't provide any sort of answers. Let's tackle a few points.
1) That's just silly. Providing a unified structure across the country doesn't seize power. States control the registration process. What's being implemented is some ground-floor rules. Like car safety.
2) No. Right now the provisional ballots go through a vetting process. That doesn't change. It's literally the same thing that's happening now. But let's say that you move from Texas to California. And it's one week before the election. There's not enough time for you to register to vote. If there is no process for you to vote, you have been denied your right to vote. By mandating one at the federal level, it's stopping a state agent from denying you your vote.
3) Hurts voter turnout by setting a minimum number of days early voting can start? That makes logical sense to you?
4) Register large numbers of illegals? How? The bill specifically states eligible citizens. And that states would be the ones to determin status. So...how?
5) Teh voter registration process is digital now. So...it's not really a change. And no, minors wouldn't be able to vote. Just like they can't now. Wow, this one was dumb.
6) Vote thieves?!? That's not even a thing!
Yeah, I'm stopping here.
Because this doesn't explain the how of any of it. It's a lot of panic-inducing misinformation.
It's all "well, this coooooooulllllddd happppennn!!" CHANGE IS BAD!!
But the truth is the GOP got everything they wanted in a secure election process in the bill.
But they voted it down anyway.
