Well self identifying doesn't change biology. In order to do that you have to go through a medical procedure.

It's more than gender is a socially determined identity and vaccination status isn't. And what they're trying to argue is that there's an essentialist status to both of them.

Gender identity doesn't change biology unless a doctor is brought into the picture. A trans woman has boy parts; a trans man has lady parts.

Identifying as vaccinated similarly doesn't change your ability to catch COVID unless you bring a doctor into the picture.
