Hence why I (and any family I'm blessed with down the line) train in Jiu-Jitsu. The amount of confidence it engenders is insane, but you can also back that up with the knowledge you can likely defend yourself in a huge range of scenarios.

As far as the school incident here is concerned, this is indicative of the endemic issue of schools protecting bullies. The fact anyone thinks the girl went too far in that situation is disturbing. Frankly, I hope she straight up ruined at least one of them.

Yeah...I know we need to protect some degree of mischief in life. Kids need to live and have fun after all, and crushing social structures in terms of who is dominant isn't good for their development.

The issue is right now the pendulum is waaaaaaay too far on the side of, "Unless physical harm was inflicted nothing wrong was done." Sexual assault goes unpunished and standing up to actual bullies is crushed.

My daughter developed earlier than the other girls in her class and one boy decided her breasts were fair game to touch. She dropped him cold with one punch (like we trained her to). The school was going to expel her until our lawyer asked them why they didn’t stop this kid from sexually assaulting her. They quickly folded.

Good on her and good on your for standing up to the school.
