I'll allow the fact that you ignored the sequels.

I still haven’t seen the Mandalorian yet. There are two reasons.
1. I don’t want to give my money to Disney plus
2. I’m more of a movie marathon person than a TV show person.

But I heard it was pretty good, and people are calling it the only path forward for Star Wars right now.

It's decent. I watched the first two episodes when it came out but was too lazy to continue it. In reality Disney probably won't make any more movies and just TV shows. Which honestly doesn't seem that bad of a decision when you look at the trilogy. It was the first time I was bored watching a Lightsaber duel.
