Those people are uninformed them. I only see people saying that a one day riot - with month's long coverage on news media and federal investigations - is odd to see after a year of people burning buildings (to include federal buildings) and private property with minimal arrests and almost no charges being filed. Seems... hypocritical.

But, you're right... both are equally wrong. Happy to agree on that.

There had been tons of coverage of the George Floyd riots. But novelty is news, and we haven't had a mob planning to kill the VP or speaker of the house attack Congress before.

Day what you will about similarities, as I have as well, but the Jan 6 attack had the goal of bypassing the Constitution. I find that worse than property damage. Especially when you consider what would have happened if they had succeeded.

That's a solid opinion to have... nothing wrong with it. I even agree that, as lovely as it would be to load the entirety of Congress into a cannon and fire them into the sun, physical aggression is not the way to handle situations of political difference. The meme is still disingenuous, however... or speaking about a group of uniformed people... as I said in my original post. Both are still equally wrong as well... as I said in my original post.

The reason why it would be foolish to kill a political leader in America is the same reason why destroying American cities and breeding division among the citizenry are unacceptable... civil war. It's merely a difference of an immediate act vs death by a thousand cuts. It's not a great direction we're heading in no matter who is doing the rioting.

No, the meme is solid. As far as I can tell Republicans aren't addressing the root cause, which is disinformation and radicalization. They just say "what about BLM...". Or even worse they push false flag be.

They want to treat Jan 6 as a fluke instead of addressing the root cause.

Pessimistic me says they can't address the root cause without losing voters, and they want those votes. They just lost the presidency even with those votes. What if they kick the crazies to the curb and don't pick up a similar number of moderates?

I admit, I may travel in different circles. Anecdotally, the people I discuss this with view disinformation and radicalization as a huge problem in America currently... no matter the specific political flavor of the radical. But - yes - we agree that it needs to be addressed... and swiftly before something more severe occurs.

HA! I completely agree on rooting out the crazies... all crazies; on both sides. But if we did that, there'd only be a hand-full of us left in the middle. I'm waiting for Netflix to come out with an original series that pits the uber-crazies from either side against each other in a massive pit... maybe throw in a lion or two. It worked for Rome during its decline, after all.

It's very possible that people just aren't vocal work their criticism and I'm mistaking loudest with majority.

I have a different worry. I worry about the crazies finding common ground.

Antifa at their core are anarchists - they don't trust any government. The Boogaloo want a much smaller government and return of personal freedoms. some Boogaloo are racist, but that apparently isn't a core belief The idea of those two forming something new frightens me.

I don't believe you need to be overly concerned about that. Feminism, Intersectionalism and radical Islamic extremists come together briefly. In the end, the more disparate the ideology the more quickly alliances of convenience dissolve into back-biting and in-fighting.

With Antifa and the Boogaloo, they're also working against the clock. I fair majority will likely grow out of it when they realize that some level of responsibility is required in this life... and they need to work to afford those responsibilities.

Or... I'm completely wrong... which is why I'm casting my 2024 vote for Big F**king Meteor.

You are probably right...but those groups are going to find they have less in common and aren't going to be able to hold it together for long. My concern about the boogaloo is that in movie-of-the-week style they realize they are in the opposite situation: They actually have a ton in common. Ignoring the boogaloo peeps who think its a race war coming you have groups with almost identical concerns about government. They are only on opposite sides of the isle because we see things as left/right in a very 2-D model. I think in more 3 dimensional representation, you'd find out that much like in the real world the far left of the map and far right of the map are actually very close.

I think you're onto something there... I've already come to terms with the political spectrum being more of a squat cylinder than a plane... far-left and far-right values, while incongruous on the face of it, amount to the same outcome. Don't have to look much further than the weird segregation we're seeing more and more of lately.

Guess I'll keep an eye out. I appreciate you mentioning it... many thanks.

And on the other side is people wanting you to kill every member of the 2nd img as they are “9/11” terrorists but the 1st img is all for the sake racial equality especially if the members burn down Home Depot and steal flat screens
