please help, I don't have any friends to talk abt this to so this was the best place I could think of | HELP NOW PLEASE; i came out to my other parent (like the idiot I am) and they're one of the people who think bi, pan and omni are all the same thing and are basically telling me my sexuality (omni) is fake. how do i explain what they're saying is stupid without sounding really mean? Okay just to provide more info, here are some things you should know

-they still love me, I'm not being abused or something
-they have a lot of strong opinions and get p**sed off easy, which is why I need advice on sounding nice about it
-they think I shouldn't be "labeling" myself, and think everybody should just go by queer
-they're sorta old, so things obviously are different for them

When I came out to my parents, my mother laughed in my face and my father made me swear not to be trans. Still the hardest thing I've ever done.

- Bisexual means attracted to 2 genders
- Pansexual means not caring about gender at all!

I feel like you should really just try your best to explain the difference to them make it as clear as possible, and maybe tell them you don't appreciate them not thinking its not real. I hope it turns out alright good luck.

I would suggest maybe writing the difference down and showing it to them. If they still don’t understand, just try your hardest to explain that it this is who you are, and you are queer, but a specific kind. Tell them that you want to be labeled , and you’ve picked a label out already.
