Agreed.

Quite literally, the flag stands for freedom, equal civil liberties, and the basic idea that nobody is perfect but we all strive for perfection. If any of that bothers you, I'd suggest looking into any of the myriad dictatorships and oligarchies that exist on this earth. You'll not be spoiled for choice.

Jealousy, plain and simple. We ain’t perfect, I’ll be the first to admit that but I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else that isn’t America.

Let's see. America is at 16th (Not too bad)
France is at 15th
The UK is at 14th
Austria is at 13th
Canada is 12th
Belgium is 11th
Australia is at 10th
9th is Ireland
Germany is 8th
New Zealand is 7th
The Netherlands are 6th
Denmark is 5th
Finland is 4th
Sweden is 3rd
Switzerland is 2nd
And first place goes to Norway

I mean, Idk about you, but where I live, people aren't jealous of the US at all, in fact, they're quite glad they don't live there and don't have to deal with the monster that is American politics, don't have to live with mass shootings, and don't have to deal with police brutality. We can rest assured that we don't go bankrupt for the crime of having a disease, and we have parties that are able to represent all people on the spectrum, engage in civil conflicts, and don't simply resort to name-calling. BIG difference

We have a common sense separation of powers.
And we have universal healthcare.
And our voting system and Senate is hands down superior to and more democratic than yours, and our Constitution can only be changed by national referendum.
And all the candidates appear on the ballots.
And we almost never have mass shootings, and never have school shootings.
And we don't idolise political leaders.
And we're far less tribal, politically speaking.
And voter suppression is nearly impossible.

Hence why you're trying to do all that here instead even though you can't via the interwebz?
You're the one here obsessed with the USA and OUR politics.

About the only thing Australian that matters to us is when will the next Mad Max come out, and will they just apply a little logic and say that the Tom 'not Mel' Hardy character is just Max's great great great grandson? (Furiosa born of a nth generation Amazon clan a decade after the 'Pociclypse? Really?)

Almost never - since 1996?

Less tribal, 'cept when it comes to actual tribalism instead of big bad social media when it comes to your Aboriginal outcasts?

Since when do you elect your Prime Minister?

Unfortunately America has fallen below a lot of other countries and the exact reason why is because socialists are control freaks who have to control. Our nation has been under assault by these control freaks for a century now and as a result we are much less free than we used to be and even other countries have more freedom than America.

Australia is one of them. You overtook us in economic freedom several years ago but that won't be for much longer because you have your own socialist control freaks in your own government who are doing the exact same thing.

If you want to live in a free country you absolutely must rid it of every last socialist, communist, fascist or Nazi hiding in the government at all levels. Essentially get rid of the Democrat Party in America and the nation will once again be the freest nation on the planet.
5 ups, 3y,

There isn't a single socialist politician in the US. Australia's politicians don't want to take away private property, either.

Biden is under the control of the socialists who put him in office. He was never a socialist but he is acting like one now. Harris, John Kerry, Antony Blinken, Janet Yellen and Pete Buttigieg are just the ones that I know about in Biden's cabinet. Senators are Schumer, Klobucher, Warren, Booker and of course Bernie Sanders. There are others.

But does it really matter if a Democrat says they are not a socialist? The entire Democrat party platform is socialist. From free healthcare, free education to tax increases, to more regulations on businesses. Gun control, including gun confiscation (and yes, they really do want to take away our guns - aka private property).

There is nothing about protecting and defending the Constitution. Nothing about promoting the free market. Nothing about limiting the size and scope of government. There is nothing truly American in the Democrat party platform. A lot of it compares with the Nazi party platform. Nazis promised free everything also. Nazis promised "social justice" also.

Right now if the American or Australian governments took away private property rights there would be a war between the people and the government. I don't know about Australia but I am pretty sure that there will be another civil war in the United States. It will be started by the Democrats and in many ways it has already been started by Antifa and BLM, it is just that no one is fight them back and the Democrats are really hard pressed to even prosecute any of them.

The left will definitely start the war but the media will blame it all entirely on the right. Especially if the left is successful in winning the war. We have all of the guns but the left has the military (at least those who are not "promise keepers"), and the UN, China, Russia and Islam on their side. If the right wins then history will accurately record that the right save freedom and the Constitution from a socialist take over. If the left wins then the right gets the blame. Conservatives will be rounded up and put into re-education camps. If they comply they will be spared, if not they will be eliminated.

Yes, this is a whole lot of rambling and if you got this far then I would be impressed. If you didn't, now big deal. I am tired and I tend to ramble incoherently when I get tired. So I hope you at least had fun reading this if you got this far. If you didn't my feelings are not hurt.

Nope, not a single one of them are socialist.
And free healthcare and free education are just non-negotiable common sense.
Similar with gun control.
And no, nobody's coming for your guns. Your rights are not being infringed.
[deleted]
1 up, 3y,

Nobody is coming for our guns just like nobody forced Australians to sell their guns to the government.

There are those generous people who are willing to give their time, money and/or resources to others without any expectation of compensation, aside from that nothing in life is free. There is no such thing as free healthcare or free education. All of that is supported by money confiscated by those who produce nothing from those who produce everything.

Then the question should be asked what system give the consumer the best bang for the buck? The answer is painfully obvious that it is NEVER the government. The government has no motivation to be efficient because when programs fail, rather than look for ways to improve it or be more efficient they just steal more money from the taxpayer.

That never happens outside of the government or businesses that are heavily subsidized by the government. In the private sector competition drives efficiency. Businesses must provide the best quality and the lowest price while keeping their employees happy enough not to go somewhere else. If any one of those things cannot happen then the business fails. It is simple free market economics that the left is convinced by illogical teaching that it cannot happen that way.

The healthcare system in America has been suffering from too much government for a century now and it just keeps getting worse and quality goes down while prices go up.

If we truly had a free market then health insurance providers would mostly collapse because of the awful service they provided even before Obamacare. The cost of healthcare would dramatically plummet if we had a free market solution rather than a government solution.

"Make people choose between bankruptcy and death to own the libs!"

Really? You think we oppose Marxism because of spite? You think we have some sort of vendetta against the left????

We want an economy that actually works. One that has been proven to work every time it has been tried. One that actually lifts all boats and has created more prosperity for more people than any other economic system ever devised by man. The rich may get richer but that is okay because so do the poor.

Not some miserable, reprehensible and evil economy that the "first world" is trying to impose on everyone. One that was designed by two miserable men (Marx and Engels) who hated all of mankind and had no understanding of human nature. They created an economic system that has done nothing but make people extremely poor, starving and malnourished, miserable, weak and dead.

We've seen your economy many times before. We can see it in Venezuela right now. You keep thinking you have found utopia but don't start complaining when you send us all into dystopia. You will have no one else but yourself to blame. Oh... you'll still blame us like your side always does when you fail the people because that is just what your side does.

Government run single payer eugenics IS Marxism. It's Nazism. It's the Soviet Union.

It saves some lives as long as those lives are deem valuable to the collective.

You do know that I have actually talked to people right here on ImgFlip who are pro-socialism and pro-communism. They were all pro-Biden and anti-Trump. Why? Because Biden better represents them.

One of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matters organization has come right out and explained that they are "trained Marxists."

Then we have Antifa. I am not sure if you are familiar with the history of Antifa but they started in the early part of the 20th century. They were Communists who were opposed to Nazis and Fascists. There isn't much difference between any of them because they are ALL based on Marx. Hitler was even much like a clone of Marx. Both self hating Jews who wanted to exterminate all other Jews. Both hated blacks and pretty much everyone else. Hitler was well versed in and a fan of Marx.

The current Antifa really holds no relationship with the early Antifa because the new Antifa thinks that anyone who is not them is a fascists and they are on a mission to save the world from fascists by pissing people off, and ruining people's lives. None of whom are fascists. In fact they are in the wrong country at the wrong time to be fighting fascists.

So when you set there in your easy chair in Australia denying that Marxism exists and acting superior about it you are clearly showing your ignorance.

So crawl back into your "first world" hole and dream about "real" Marxism.

Then you are not paying attention. Just because it isn't happening as fast as you would like it does not mean it isn't happening. Progressives call themselves that because back in the early 20th century their goal was a slow gradual progression into Marxism. They didn't think America would take to it if it was forced on them all at once.

It is the principle of throwing a frog in a pot of boiling water vs throwing a frog in room temperature water and then slowly turning up the heat.

However, Marxists have become more bold because they have reached the point where they can no longer hide who they are.

Abolishing private property in some ways has already happened. If you pay off the mortgage on your house you still have to pay property taxes. If you don't the government will kick you off of your land and out of your house.

Despite your denials gun confiscation is in the planning stages. There are are already red flag laws where anyone can report someone as a threat (even if they are not) and the state government will come into that person's house without a search warrant and take that person's guns away.

Red flag laws are written to prevent disturbed individuals from potentially using their firearms against someone else. The problem is that no crime has been committed when the police confiscate the firearms. It may save lives or it may just be stealing firearms.

The other problem is there are disturbed leftists who suffer from hoplophobia and have no problem at all about calling the police on their normal law abiding friends, neighbors or family members to have the police confiscate their firearms.

Eventually these people do get their day in court and they have to prove to the court that they are not a threat to anyone before they will get their firearms back.

This is just the beginning of ending property rights.

Plus there is Biden's compliance with the Word Economic Forum's Great Reset. Biden even used the slogan for the Great Reset for his campaign slogan, "Build Back Better". The WEF is calling for a collapse of the global economy and rebuilding the world back with a global socialist government. They even produced a video that after it caused too much controversy they took it off of their website. I have seen this video many times. You can find it on YouTube but you may have to look for it because YouTube takes it down as soon as the see it.

In the video you are told that "You will own nothing and you will be happy". A minute or 2 later they tell you that "you will rent everything".

Most of the world's leaders fully support this Build Back Better ideology. It is also backed by the UN's Agenda 21 (for the 21st Century) and Agenda 2030 (for the year it all is planned to start).

So if you want your private property rights taken from you all you have to do is just wait. It is going to be forced on the world pretty soon.

Most Americans will not comply and this is going to cause huge problems, including a second civil war.

As far as free education, we have had taxpayer funded K through 12 education since day one. What else are you demanding? Do you think a high school diploma isn't good enough any more? You would be right but that is not because we don't have taxpayer funded colleges. That is because we stopped teaching kids how to think and only what to think. Schools are producing the quality of student that they used to. I am 63 years old and when I say used to I mean before my time. No high school student today could ever pass a 6th grade test from a century ago. We may have more technology, more science, more historical findings and a whole lot more information but very little of that is making it to our high school graduates.

Schools now have safe spaces so that if a student hears an opinion other than the one they were brainwashed to believe is true they can run to the safe space and play with Legos until they get over being triggered. That is NOT education, it is indoctrination and it is repulsive. We are creating a generation of useful idiots that have no problem marching with Antifa or BLM and destroying other people's property.

I wasn't taught how to think in high school either. I had to learn to do that on my own and because of my parents and the religion I am a member of.

Rather than fully funding college tuition for students how about let's throw the Marxist professors and educators out, introduce a diversity of opinions and give the students the tools to decide what path they choose to follow. In order to graduate high school students will not only have to give the correct answers to math, science and English classes but they will have to adequately justify their social ideologies even if it completely differs from the school administration.

What is happening now is people with the emotional level of Kindergarten students are being pushed into college and colleges are having to spend far too much time trying to bring these children up to speed with the demands of their majors at an expense that most students and/or parents won't be able to pay off for decades. It is not fair to the colleges, the students and in some cases the parents who are supporting either fully or partially their children.

High schools, in accordance and under the direction of the parents, are supposed to prepare students for life. Not college, not to reject their parents and not to be mindless Democrat voters who have emotional breakdowns if they hear another opinion.

You could not be more wrong. I want YOU to live just as free as I do. I want everyone to not be burdened with completely unnecessary and foolish government regulations, programs or laws. Not all laws are unnecessary but far too many are.

I want YOU to be able to determine how to live your life without interference.

The only thing I want to restrict people on is preventing them from infringing on other people's rights. We have inalienable rights to life, liberty and to own property. We have a right to pursue happiness.

The left is actively working on dismantling all of our rights and micromanaging everyone. I am vehemently opposed to all attempts to trample on any of our rights.

"Not everybody agrees on which regulations are necessary and which are unnecessary"

If it limits someone's right to do something that does not infringe on anothers rights the that is an unnecessary law and it must go. I does not matter if some people like that law.

"So you support LGBTQ equality, same sex marriage, and basic libertarian values? That's awesome."

It doesn't matter. If marriage is taken from the government then the government is forbidden to impose anything on the people. The churches can decide what kind of marriage they will perform.

That way a gay couple can find a church that will marry them and it will have no effect on my life. AND THAT is the libertarian approach. Not more legislation or unconstitutional adjudication from the Supreme Court.

But that's not what you want, isn't it? You want Christians to be forced to support something they believe is sinful. Because THAT is the basic leftist values.
