you've got to take into account that Don is a lifelong, habitual, shameless, bald-faced liar. consequently, we can't trust anything he says as meaning what the words seem to say. i think it's great that you have that much trust in him, despite the thousands of red flags to the contrary, because that shows you to be a good person. but i think the most likely explanation for Trump's respectful comments about the military is simple lip service in playing to his base.

He said it, not wrote. As the commander in chief, it was his responsibility to check on and encourage the military and security of this nation. He did that. He cared about the troops and border security. He raised the salary of those in the military. He visited the boarder. BIDEN HAS NOT

three things to keep in mind here. one, Biden's administration replaced one of the worst deconstructions of the fed govt in US history. imagine showing up to a job to find that the last guy wasn't doing it for four years. two, the agencies and offices that weren't gutted were staffed by some of the most poorly qualified people. this would mean a lot of damage beyond simple stagnation and isolationism. three, we won't know the damage to sensitive operations since those must remain classified. consequently, Biden and Harris don't have time for optional visits, even important ones.
