That's the culture we live in. Men aren't supposed to show "weakness," & gay men have sometimes been stereotyped as weaklings. But women loving women isn't a threat to men so there is some tolerance.
In ancient Greece men being with men was considered superior than the necessary evil of needing a wife to have children for you; meanwhile women like Sappho were hated. In Japan both samurai & court lady culture were pretty gay. In the society of my ancestors "two spirit" people were respected.
