If people want to take vaccines, then money stands to be made. Who cares if these guys are rich? Their companies fulfilled a need that a large block of society wants.

It's amazing how many people are scrambling to get a vaccine that is 95% effective (the best one. the others are less effective) against a virus that 98% of people, without co-morbidities will survive.

People also buy useless sports cars that *can* go 200mph but will only be driven on roads with a 90mph speed limit.
