Not all law enforcement is bad, but there are one to many bad apples and it is to hard to get rid of said bad apples

What do you have if you have 1 bad cop and 149 cops who don't say anything?

150 bad cops.
1 up, 4y
There isn’t a system for the 149 to say something

I'd say there's more than one too many bad apples. More like a few hundred too many.

The system is flawed, yes. That doesn’t mean it is trash

I'm of the opinion that it's worse than trash, it's evil.

The fact you're embarrassed to be white says more about you than anything else...why would you let anyone fool you into thinking your skin color somehow affects your beliefs or merit as an individual? Your mind and actions, not your body's largest organ of flappy-stretchy stuff with varying melanin content, are how you should judge yourself.

And besides, you just dissed a ton of Asian, Black, Hispanic, and Native American cops in the process of making this meme and its implications, so you've pretty much managed to insult every single race in a single meme, for which I award you a slow clap.

*clap.....clap.....clap*

That's called 'labelling theory'. There's merit to it, but the problem there is you've ceded your individuality and instead source your identity from society itself. Why on earth would you do this?
0 ups, 4y,

Because it's true. Everyone sources their identity from society, whether through religion, race, family, class, nation, political party, etc.--there are those who realise they do it and those who are ignorant. Identity is not individual. "The Individual" is largely a myth.

You can choose to change every one of those things. I can choose to renounce my Catholic Faith (though I'd rather die before doing so, for the record). I can choose to change my name and never speak to my family again. I can choose to end my independent status and sign on with any political party I want, then switch it again. I can choose to leave this country and move to Switzerland, burn my U.S citizenship, and go skiing for the rest of my life. I can choose to work hard every day and make smart financial decisions, then retire a multimillionaire just like I can choose to not work a day longer and probably die alone and penniless in a gutter.

No one can force me to make or not make any of those decisions. They can argue against it, they can even try to stop me, but they can never ever change what I think, because I am my own person. I'm not what they say, I'm who I choose to be. This is a basic truth.

You're not entirely wrong. I did renounce my Catholic faith!

I'm entirely right on this point. Much as hearing you left saddens me, you're just proving it further.

Sorry, I take sociology's and neuroscience's words on individuality over Christianity's. I don't agree with you.

You're literally making yourself a willful zombie, consigning your identity to the hands of those who have no business defining who you are.

I disagree. You say it's a simple reality, and it is a simplistically coherent philosophy, but it's not true. Lots of things make logical sense which don't match the facts.

You can do what you want, but what you want is mostly programmed by biology and your culture, especially your parents. It takes a lot of self-examination to overcome that enculturation. I'm not saying free will doesn't exist, but it's not as simplistic as you're making it out to be. Your concept of identity seems more political than philosophical or psychological, so I don't agree with it.

And you're deluding yourself if you think you're completely in charge of your identity. Or do you agree with the trans rights activists?

It's not a simple matter.

I know who I am. I am not what others think I am. I am who I want to be. It's very simple.

Seems to me YOU'RE very simple. Or at least your consciousness/ego is.

Congrats on the level 2 'ya basic' delivery. Should have linked the gif of Kristen Bell snapping her finger at Chidi while you were at it.

But in all seriousness, this is a very simple reality, dude. Either you own yourself, your identify, and your future, or you let people control you. Ironically enough, the choice is yours and yours alone. I choose to be who I want to be. The rest of the world can take it or leave it, and I'll try to get along with them as best I can. Going along with the herd because they say to do so only proves someone doesn't want to think for themself.
