The bigger problem is responsibility and self ownership. The problem is everyone wants to be a moral leader and impose what they think is common sense values, but were they to actually examine what they were suggesting instead of merely parroting someone else's manipulated version of right and wrong, they would see that this moralizing has lead to the issues of today.
Meanwhile we have a bunch of people that don't work telling us the system doesn't work, we have people that can't moderate their own lives(fatasses, anxious, depressed) telling us how we should live and we have elitist college people who also have never done hard labor or mingled with minorities telling us how we are all racists, sexist, xenophobic, etc... so I guess what we need is more adversity and less shallow compassion. What leads immigrants to greater success than many living here is both familiarity with hardship and appreciation, two thing the average leftist lacks.
