Conservative: You live in fantasy land where math is open for interpretation and subject to "feelings".

You: Equity and stuff!

Conservative: You're way off base with your "don't respect" comment. My views have everything to do with finances and math, and nothing to do with the occupations themselves.

You: Racist!

Conservative: You're right, it's not "rocket science" it's basic arithmetic.

So you want to bump everyone up to a "livable wage" that chose their prospective wages at the start of employment and haven't earned a higher wage, and yet the people who have worked their butts off to get to a higher wage to stay at the same wage?
So an EMT who went to school that only makes $15-18/hr stays at that rate, but people that do the bare minimum with no education can make the same?
Yeah, that sounds right.

Nope, I'm not making that up. I've worked since I was 14 when minimum wage was 4.25/ hr. Im a military veteran, currently a plumber making 23/hr. I've worked my butt off to get here. My wages don't automatically go up. My wife worked up in her job to 17.50. Her wage doesn't go up. It's not mandatory for employers to raise all wages just because minimum wage goes up. It's bs. Anyone who thinks that min wage should be $15 is either lazy or stupid.

No, I have respect for people who work for what they want. Not the pieces of crap that expect handouts.

Yes I respect those people, and if they work hard and deserve it, they'll get a raise. But people have to remember, they agree to work for whatever the employer offers them during the interview.

Leftards are such leftarded retards, that during the presidential campaign, Bernie Sanders' campaign staff asked for $15/h, which he agreed to, only to later admit he had to cut number of staff and cut hours for the rest. Today, leftarded retard Bernie who learned absolutely f**k all fro his own experience, is front and center pushing for federal $15/h.

It's easy to choose not to work when mommy and daddy keep paying you.

Where the hell do you think inflation comes from?

If the lowest paid worker now makes more per hour, the company pushes that cost onto the consumer, which will cause them to charge more for their services if they own a business. If they don’t, they spend less on non-essential items, causing those companies to lose money, which makes them cut jobs or raise prices.

Minimum wage increases are a farce to get young, unskilled workers to vote Democrat, not realizing they will eventually be paying more for everything with their ‘higher wage’.

Leftists do NOT understand the economy.

There have been federal MW increases, not to mention State increases.

And while there are other factors to inflation rates such as government spending, natural disasters, etc., every time there is an increase to the minimum wage, there is ALWAYS a spike in inflation rates.

No. I just think that people should deserve them, not get them just because they have a job.

If you want to make more money, get a better job.

Yes. It absolutely is. You find a job that pays what you want or you work your way up to it.

BTW, slave got $0 dollars per hour/day/week, so your analogy sucks.

No excuse for unskilled labor to make more money just because they have a job.

Work hard, prove you deserve more, or find a different job.

Other than recessions, there are ALWAYS better jobs IF you have a good work ethic and the ability to learn.

If you can’t find a better job, you’re either lazy or unable to learn new skills.

Naw. I just have no tolerance for lazy people wanting the same thing I had to work hard to get without having to do the same.

Wow. So because I think that all people should only make a wage that they actually deserve, I’m a horrible person?

In that case, since you believe that businesses should be forced to pay a wage that isn’t earned, you must be a horrible person.

Money is relevant to costs. Artificially jacking wages beyond the market will reduce employees, or close businesses, and in any event create high inflation. That inflation will reduce the purchase power of the wage, putting the artificially high wage recipient back to where he started, if not worse.

Nice doomsday scenario. It's minimum wage. The country will be fine if it's raised.
1 up, 3y
If the person keeps his job and can afford the inflation. For the displaced worker it’s not so fine.

a salesman will always make more than an entry-level employee with no experience (hence minimum wage)

And entry level should still pay at least decent.

No. You start at the bottom, not the middle, and work your way up.

And you're still just as much a person trying to live as the management. Pay decent wages, or don't get employees.

So the answer is not to hire and do the work yourself. No jobs.
