I don't entirely agree with this. trump doesn't want to make America great again.

Increased military spending isn't unique to either of them...every major power does it. As your GDP goes up, so too does your military spending. You just have more money to spread around.

Ah, well that again is perfectly logical. We are maintaining parity over China and Russia simultaneously. The former is massively building up its military, and the latter is attempting to modernize and expand its asymmetrical warfare capabilities. Therefore we are increasing our own spending so as to ensure neither feels like it has enough of an edge to suddenly go bully weaker states like Taiwan or Ukraine.

US: 3.9% of GDP
China: 1.3% of GDP
Russia: 3.6% of GDP

That actually seems a bit low; last I'd heard we were spending about 6% on our military. Could absolutely be wrong about it though.

Meh. Trump isn't Hitler. Hitler actually believed his own propoganda. If Trump believed in his own propoganda he would have been more consistent.
