Because the movies description represents a historical events. The Bolsheviks had a substantial number of Jewish members and yet this movie is presenting them as antisemitic. The people that the Bolsheviks went to war against were the Tsarist ruling class. I know my history enough to know a movie that is based upon fabrication and misrepresentation.

One could make the argument that China today is not necessarily a Communist country anymore. Of course, it would depend on one's definition of "communism". They're almost today more Capitalist (another term that is hard to define) than we are. I read a book called Capitalism without Democracy; by Kellee S. Tsai, a really fascinating book by the way, discussing this very issue. However, China is completely totalitarian; which is definitely the Communism that we all know and recognize. This of course is why in situations such as Covid, the government can treat its people like practical slaves and make them do whatever they see fit. Totalitarianism is not pretty, but but it does get 'shit' done. Even if America was more socialist, that type of thing wouldn't work here; and thank god for that.

I've read parts of Das Capital, The Communist manifesto, Theses on Feuerbach and others I can't remember, it was a reader and a while ago; thank god:) I find Communism so materialistic and pretentious that it's a hard to read. The historical materialism is just laugh out loud funny and vomit inducing to be honest. I will admit I do like some of it though; the ideas of structuralism (though that was more his followers) is something I've looked into with great interest. Gramsci by far was the best of the Marxist writers (though that is Western Marxism to be specific) and a smart cookie too. I disagree with him, but I can respect his intellect. How many conservative writers have you read?
