Haha yeah this story is old. They sell bacon at some BK outlets there, so this is probably more down to culture shock, like when a country gets its first escalator. A lot of common people probably aren't using English a lot, so they see it's literally called a "ham-burger". They probably just got tired of explaining it every day.
