Birth Order Sucks

As an only child I do not understand this

I will break it down for you: The oldest was the first sheltered so has all the ability/skills of both parents. YOU (the middle child, moi) are then born and cannot hope to reach the ability of the oldest. Then the youngest comes along and, is not only pampered because he/she is "the baby," but also seen as the "new hope" because of the depression and lack of achievement you experienced as the middle and the rebellious attitude of the oldest (who became cocky because of his/her shitload of ability and decided he/she'd do things their way instead of the parents' way.) You, as the middle, are then left to fend for yourself because you're not the prodigy or the "new hope;" You're just... there. That's the middle child curse in a nutshell.

Long story short, The oldest gets a childhood without any siblings, he can tease or piss off all younger siblings and have the advantage of being oldest while the youngest gets all the attention of parents while the middle child gets all none

So as a middle child you're pretty much just overlooked all the time

My household must be weird because my brother (the middle child) always gets away with everything and gets me in trouble with my parents and If I so dare as to touch him he´ll get cry like a karen and my other brother (the youngest) gets away with stuff but is kinda just there but no matter I love the both of them plus now since they both are getting older they are starting to mature.

the older kids usually are able to do more things cuz they're older, and the youngest get advantages in things that they want to do by throwing a fit and get away with things cuz they "don't know any better" and the middle child(ren) don't really get a choice and don't really get to get away with much. Oh and when the middle child hurts the younger child you know somethings about to go down. But if the younger child hurts the older child the younger child doesn't get in trouble, if a middle child hurts another middle child then the middle children will most likely both get in trouble.

Okay so I will spell dis out 4 you. The eldest child has an advantage because he/she can boss around all the other siblings and gets a childhood free of them. The youngest child has an advantage because he/she can turn the older sibling or siblings against you when you talk and/or act bad about them even when it's true because they use the "I'm youngest so you can't be bad about me" excuse and then act like his/her true self, snobby and obnoxious. The middle child is fighting for his or her rights because he/she is bossed around by the older sibling and framed by the younger sibling leaving the middle child with no rights. The worst part? You can't say anything about it if you're a middle child. I know the feeling. I'm a middle child myself. You must be lucky

I'm the oldest of four, it's not always so great guys. Please try to have some grace toward your older siblings. It might look fun, and sure I can sometimes use my age to my advantage and call first dibs on things, but with that little bit of power comes a lot of responsibility. Your older siblings love you SO MUCH. Like, heck, I won't share my fries with my siblings but I'll give 'em both my kidneys if it comes down to it. I mean, just walking up to them and saying thanks without an explanation would mean a lot to me if one of my siblings did that. I'm not trying to force you or anything, I'm just saying. I'd also know it sucks to be the middle child. You don't get the privileges the oldest gets but you still gotta fend for yourself unlike the younger child. My older brother can beat me up but I have to fight on my own, but if I touch my younger brother who is 10 YEARS OLD he cries like he's a f***ing baby.

i am the youngest and in my broken family i am the least favorite in my family and get in trouble a lot as well as my brother who is a middle child and my oldest sibling gets all the attention and if they say something that i did not do my parents would get me in trouble and i used to be the favorite but i think that ended when i got in trouble at school a lot including when i got suspended for 2 weeks and never returned and my other sibling can get away with anything and everything. I know what you mean kinda from being the middle, while the oldest child gets experience, and the younger gets love and attention and the only thing the middle gets is depression and loneliness.
