Let me help you out. Go to a private school and try the antics and disrespect, they will bounce you. If you dont like the PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM in your area, move, take your child to the school you prefer, pay for private school, or hone school your crumb snatcher.

Your ignorance is showing. The Fed govt spends $79B annually in school programs. So yea, they pull some of the strings. The state govt is the over-seer and main puppeteer of public schools. The state determines the curriculum, etc. About the only thing under local control is who they hire as teachers and administrators. A lot of the propaganda comes from the state and the rest from the teachers and administrators at the schools.

You even said it yourself, the state runs your education...which is local. The feds only provide funds for those states...so it is a local.problem, not a federal one. Move...

No dipwad, the state is not local. Local funding comes from your county/city and is controlled by the county board of supervisors / city council. In VA, local funding accounts for 54.5%, state funding accounts for 38.5% and federal funding accounts for 7%. And fed funds are earmarked for what areas they are to be spent. And even though the state only provides a little over 1/3 of the funding, they dictate pretty much what is taught in the schools.

And the last time I checked, the state is a GOVERNMENT.
