As a military officer I would tell my troops that if you think something I said is stupid or could be done better than ask to talk to me in private. Only once it happened. I built nuclear simulators. If they did not blow up I as the safety officer that supervised would have to check why. After my explanation to a Sergeant who just happened to be black he agreed with me. I basically said we will do all these steps and I will watch all of them. The only person who will die is me so I just want to be sure if I have to check why the bomb did not blow up. He later talked to me and said you may die on the battlefield LT and tragic as that may be at least your own troops won't kill you because you listen to them and have their respect.

and that is why I had technical writers review my work before submission because really they cared about my nuclear knowledge not about where I put a period. I had a great secretary and she got bonuses every year because she was great.
