I once did something of the sort just for fun. I used the crowder template and said, "people who disable comments are wimps. Change my mind." Then, I submitted it to politics with comments disabled.

Most times I've seen comments disabled was to stop further hateful comments. That has nothing to do with being "wrong" - just dealing with trolls who comment just to annoy people.

Some mods in streams disable comments. Those are usually political memes in streams that mostly don't want fights or arguments. Like rareinsults.

If you want me to make a paradox out of this, I have seen people on politics disable comments after making exact opposite claims. (I'm assuming you mean mostly on politics)

Some people do want to just avoid the toxicity, while others don't like to defend their claim. It doesn't necessarily make them wrong, but it is quite annoying.

Of course. Standard 'allowed' comments can be disingenuous. Just like one can talk without saying much person to person. Otherwise there would be nothing interesting about humanity. OP is I think we are in agreement, pointing out a relatively obscure social media communication paradox.

This reminded me of the song "The sound of silence." They say,

This honestly does extend to modern-day politics, too. People will talk about candidates they like, but almost nobody seriously considers what is said, so all the happens is useless argument. On top of that, people are too afraid to talk about what morals guide our laws.

I think most big problems are a paradox. Try to find out what it means and one usually becomes more confused.

I wasn't saying politics is a paradox in this aspect, but that the claim in the meme is most likely wrong because of the paradoxical situations it would enable were it true
