'Whites' as a race? No. White men? Yes. Also: black men, brown men, white women...in every culture with people of different appearance slavery has existed or still does to this day. It has zilch to do with race. People who think they are superior to other people, just because they belong to a group of people that looks different than some other group are called racists. The colour of your skin does not determine if you can be a racist or not.

But if 'Whites' don't exist as a 'race' or 'ethnicity' than 'white men' don't exist either. You can't have one without the other.

And if you're not young and inexperienced in having actual discussions (you know, without namecalling simply because you think the other disagrees with you), what are your experiences with discussions where you call people names instead of come up with actual arguments? Do people stay polite, start calling you names or simply ignore you? Honest question because I'm interested to know how calling someone names on the first encounter could lead to a serious and polite discussion.

'White' is a colour and can exist without being a race. Men with light skin colour can be called 'white men'. Although it is really stupid to do so because there are many nuances in colour and it's just plain stupid to judge people by the colour of their skin.

But yet, people, especially the race-baiting democrats, do it every day; white people this, white people that, black man killed, etc. Mexicans know exactly who they are, as do native Americans, and black Americans act this way as well. Call it what you want, race, ethnicity, it's a natural phenomenon, and denying it, won't seem to help our problems.

Of course we all are different. No one is the same. Nonetheless people should be treated equal. Mind you, that's not similar to 'the same'.

If you would look at genetic diversity between people, there are more differences between different African people than there are between African and European/American people so based on that (and if you think we should think in different races), there are more different races in Africa than in 'the Western world'. Genetic diversity is very important. However, calling a group of people a 'race', once it's established they are genetically different from other people would lead to the existence of thousands of 'races': people with large earlobes, six toes, freckles...If we really want to say people are of a different race because they are genetically different, we would have to agree there are billions of different races. ;-)
