IF, and that's a big IF, someone (anyone) who is in favor of *more* gun control laws can provide two pieces of information, then we could have a serious debate.
The first, and imo the most important piece of info is, specifically how would any of these new laws have prevented even one of the mass killings that has happened in say... the last 20 years or so? And if all you're going to bring to the table for that debate is another law that restricts the 2nd amendment, then we're not going to even be able to get started.
Next, tell me why the current gun control laws on the books aren't working, and why we need more of the same? Criminals and crazy people aren't going to follow gun control laws, so stop pretending that these laws impact anyone but law abiding citizens.
This meme represents a perfect example of current unenforced gun control laws.
In another recent situation in Denver (you know, it's the one the media was all over *until* it turned out the assailant was a Syrian immigrant), if existing laws to incarcerate violent felons had been fully enforced, the shooter would not have been able to (legally) have a firearm. Instead, the DA worked out a plea deal that left this violent individual free to roam the streets. This was an 18 year old adult who was still in high school, and violently assaulted a classmate.
So first enforce the laws on the books, then come up with laws that will stop the criminals and the crazies, without infringing upon the 2nd amendment. I know you're all pretty dayum smart over there on the left, so this shouldn't be that hard for you to do.
