Users who abuse the Imgflip system for points can earn negative points. It has happened more than once.

One way the Imgflip point system can be abused is when a user spams lots of comments, in a effort to earn points quickly. There are other ways I won't get into.

The way I understand it, the streams themselves are not "illegal", it's the user's conduct that can lead to negative points.

I remember there was a user named Beandan that ran afoul with a point scheme, later they self-deleted :(

The way I understand the Imgflip system, once an icon is awarded to an account, it is never taken away.

Calm down, it's a consequence of him having negative points because of cheating by spamming comments.

Maybe there should be an anti-leaderboard showing who has the most negative points.

Then people will be jerks just for the notoriety.
