Hopefully, we'll see a trend of masks being worn during flu season to cut down on flu deaths. However, given how pigheaded most Americans are, I suspect we'll see masks disposed of completely until the next pandemic...

well rightfully so you know how happy people will be if/when they hear the words mask are no longer a necessary item. Holy shit* everybody gonna be bustin down

Of course, they will... That doesn't mean it's a good idea.

The thing is that our economy loses billions of dollars each year due to cold and flu season. If we masked up just during that time of year, fewer people would miss work and fewer elderly would die of flu complications. Or, we could do as Asian countries do and mask up when we know *we* have a cold to avoid spreading that cold to others.

In addition, it's certain that we'll have other airborne epidemics to contend with in the future. Having a few masks on hand for WHEN they emerge is a good idea. It's better to be prepared for these eventualities rather than be blindsided by them.

But you're right - most people won't think this far ahead or broadly and get rid of their masks. It's sad but true.

I personally will keep wearing mine, nobody has to see my pimple covered face. Plus, it is a good face warmer
