The shaping of the narrative of US involvement in WWII and its true role, as opposed to the one in the US press, is quite appalling once you engage with the subject enough to fully understand it.

I agree, the US did do plenty. We took fewer civilian casualties primarily because of geography. We weren't in close proximity to our enemies like other nations were.

the statements about russia are total nonsense. Their death toll was their soldiers who died fighting Germany, and their civilians killed by the Nazis. You just made that shit up. please don't do that.

Stalin was in power back then. He killed a lot of people. The death toll was partly so high because of Hitlers war crimes and Russia's tried and tested numbers tactic, but at least 20% of the deaths shown were because of Stalin's paranoia and the crimes committed by the soviet union

Well, Stalin killed around 40 million people. He was in power for 24 years. The maths makes that 1.66666667 million per year. Multiplied by 6 (The length of WW2) makes 10 million. The graph shows that the total USSR casualties was around 27.5 million. So around 1 third of all soviet casualties were self-inflicted
