Because politicians think that they know how to spend your (your parents) money better than you do, on their special interests. Again for votes.

If they ever did give out reparations, I would expect it to be to African-Americans who are direct descendants of slaves, only.

Slaves aren’t the only people who suffered oppression in the US. I’m a descendant of people who were oppressed, robbed, terrorized and killed because of their religion. It was done on US soil under watch of the federal government and, in one case, by direct order of a state governor.

So, if we feel the need to pay reparations to descendants of slaves, we better be prepared to do it for everyone with oppressed ancestors.

I don’t think anyone’s due reparations.
