It’s a fun meme and a well thought-out proposal, but I vote no.
Turning comments off is a memer’s right under the provided features of Imgflip. There are all sorts of good reasons to do that — avoid trolling, getting sucked in, etc. — and those reasons are especially valid with the drama we’ve seen here lately. Enabling comments against someone’ s expressed wishes (which I’ve seen happen here) is a violation of their free speech right to make a meme with comments disabled.
Can you call someone a coward for disabling comments? Sure, that’s your free speech right.
And if someone’s comments-disabled meme bugs you that bad, then make a meme of your own to complain and link it to the “offending” meme.
I’ll vote no formally in the Congress stream.
