Biden's message has consistently been that beating the pandemic and economic growth go hand-in-hand and that's exactly what we're seeing now. Tons of people are getting vaccinated, people recently got their Covid stimulus checks, optimism is in the air.
People can't wait to get "back to normal." When things finally fully reopen, consumer spending will rebound (pent-up savings, desire to travel, etc.) and the economy is going to take off like a rocket.
There will be lingering scars of the pandemic, of course -- unemployment will remain higher than pre-pandemic levels for awhile and some businesses aren't coming back. Policy should address that.
But broadly speaking, there's only one place for the economy to go from here, and that's up.
