Only in the imaginations of the self-appointed protectors of President Pandemic, am I some socialist firebrand. I am a liberal-capitalist who tries to rely on logic and science to guide important decisions. At this time in history, with Global Warming looming large, the most logical path would be to tap into the ample Natural Gas available to us and convert as many coal-fired plants to NG, as might be possible. We don't have enough of a Rare-Earth supply nor the capital for a massive switch over to solar. With subsidies running out and regulations restricting public utilities from charging consumers what solar systems really cost, people are in for a wake-up call.
MIT says we are about twenty years away from the technology that will facilitate a changeover to solar. Until then, blocking NG production will only increase the use of coal. I am afraid the Gazprom, and Putin, have played roles in the spread of disinformation in this area. They have profited greatly from attacks on the American NG industry.
