He's referring to the cancellation of some things such as Dr seuss books or poeple who said something stupid. If the woke mob get their feelings hurt for any reason, it is forcefully removed.

The publishers of Dr. Seuss took some titles off their list because of some stereotypes in the way they represent people from other cultures.

“And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street” mentions a character who is Chinese and has two lines for eyes, carries chopsticks and a bowl of rice, and wears traditional Japanese-style shoes.

“If I Ran the Zoo” has two male characters who are from Africa and are shown shirtless, shoeless, wearing grass skirts and carrying an animal.

On "To Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street," what's wrong with that? Are any depictions of people supposed to seem realistic in his books? And, what's wrong with having anything other than white people? Isn't it "white washing" when there aren't!? Was he supposed to draw a bunch of unrealistic people to represent whites then insert photographs for Asians?

Same thing goes for "If I Ran the Zoo." What is wrong with it? Does everyone have to act like white people in a fantasy book about the imagination of a kid wanting exotic things in a zoo!?

But YOU are certainly okay with racist stereotypes being used to portray them.

Which is worse; saying "hey, we shouldn't promote that idea. It's bad." or "it's fine, I don't care what other people think about how they're being portrayed in books we read to children. F**K'EM. I'm not offended" ?

Which of those two things is worse?

And what are these racist stereotypes?

How is that racist?

1) they're drawn in the "Yellow Peril/Fu Manchu" style, which is levels of racism that you can explore on your own time. Because, there's a lot. A whole lot.

2) the european/American on top has a gun. He's not helping. He's making those guys carry that beast on their heads. With him on top. At it's finest, he's a jackass.

I'll go look up #1. Aren't they all drawn like Dr seuss's characters?

As for number 2, it looks like he's proud he just conquered that animal

Those guys are supposed to be Chinese and they're wearing Japanese shoes. The guy on top is a colonizer.
0 ups, 3y
Does it say that he's a colonizer in the book? The people seem pretty happy. It's been a long time since I've read one of his stories, so I don't know what is going on here. If you could give me a full-page picture, that would be great.

Are those japanese shoes, or did seuss draw up wild shapes for shoes like everything else in his books?

The long long history of depicting Africans and those of African descent is exactly like that says that is super racist.

There are no africans shown though

This is supposed to be Africa. Those guys are wearing skirts and they're black-skinned. Seriously, come on now.

Aren't those monkeys? Look at the shape of the faces. I figured it was supposed to be a show at the zoo, with monkeys holding the perch for the bird. or something. Is this what you were talking about in your other comment? If you could show me where it implies they are human, then I will say that this one is racist.
0 ups, 3y
Yes! That's the point! These are Africans in Africa who are drawn to bear a striking resemblance to apes/monkeys AND have grass skirts on.

No one is saying that Suess hated people of Asian and African heritage. No one thinks that he was out burning crosses and wearing white sheets. You can't write the Sneetches story and be a racist.

BUT he clearly engaged in racists stereotypes.

This is a great example of systemic racism. He didn't set out to draw racist depictions of people, but he used common imagery that is racist. He drew them that way because "that's just what you do..."

Because the left is trying to overturn our culture, and they are trying to push the false idea that male and female don't exist.

Are you guys seriously that upset over a damn toy?
0 ups, 3y
No, but it they change a substantial amount of the small things to pretend that gender doesn't exist, then it will become a substantial part of our culture. Kids form a ton of their lifelong beliefs from what they are fed as children. Right now, they are brainwashing them to believe that Gender doesn't exist and that it is somehow different than sex.

I don't know if you are in Europe and just got up, or if you are a night owl like me, but even though you just got on, I have to get off and go to bed now. I can continue this tomorrow. If we are in terribly different time zones, though (I'm in Mountain time in NA, and it's after midnight for me), this will be a slow conversation.

Peace

He didn't gett cancelled. The publisher- wholly own their own- announced they'd stop producing 6 specific books that contained racist or problematic imagery.

Then the Fox Outrage machine kicked into high gear because...reasons...
