my meme was meant as sarcasm. The truth is that J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson are not actual fans of the Star Wars canon and both decided to go very different directions that Lucas laid out. Lucas, in fact, wrote initlal screenplays for the Ep. 7-9, but Abrams and Johnson both ignored them and wrote their own.

I think everything here is unsupported. Can't you just like it for what it is. I've had to grapple with the problematic nature of Star Wars as art myself. When all is said and done you can take away the good or the bad. I mean yes I'm a hypocrite and hate on Harry Potter. But from what you are saying there is nothing you categorically deny the value of in Star Wars

to carry on this tangential jaunt from a sarcastic meme to serious film critique, the story line of the OT is supported by the prequels, whereas the storyline of the sequel trilogy does not carry the OT storyline and introduces tons of major plot holes from Rian Johnson's gross misunderstanding of the concept of hyperspace travel to Rey's backstory jumping from a descendant of Skywalker to the daughter of Palpatine, who is 1000 generations incarnated of all dark Sith, making the Palpatine in the prequels and Emperor in ROTJ mere iterations of incarnations of the "Palpatine" in Ep. 9 and avoiding the central theme of Anakin being the main character who was destined to bring balance to the force.

The memes notion that the force must be taught is anti-thetical to the entire notion of the force. So maybe we should stop there.
