I've only just started reading it, but I'd say the endless wars and the government denying it's own recent history to justify it's current choices (people like Dr. Fauci going from saying you don't need to wear a mask to now saying we need to wear two).
And the idea that whatever the government says is the truth. So many people can't seem to think for themselves anymore.

Breaking down of the family. Not in the same way, but the authority of the parents and the relationship and role of the family has been changed. Children are being taught distorted history. I'm pretty sure that Alexa and Google Dot or whatever count as home surveillance. Being lied to by the government: Covid-literally everything. 'Party members' wear certain clothing, and you are supposed to wear a mask. Changing the language (herd immunity-Newspeak). Math (2+2=5, 2+2=5). Being beaten into submission by your government.
