Oh, I realized and accepted that I failed at life long ago. The game is rigged. There is no winning or losing. There's just surviving with a modicum of dignity left at the end. If you can't laugh at yourself you've learned nothing.
I grew up in a family of debaters. Everything was fine until the political debate of 1968 between my father and his older brother. (I was 5) After the dust settled and they picked Grannie up off the ground because she tried to stop the fight and got knocked down, rules were implemented. No sports, religion or politics. People take those subjects too personally to debate. Notice how politics almost always involves sports and religion? Politicans do that on purpose. Pick your team. I like people on both teams though. I'm not going to hate my family and friends over politics.
I don't like Trump because he's a buffoon but I've voted for republicans before.
