You could still get the virus and transmit it to someone who is less fortunate than you are. Like a loved one. Same reason mask wearing is recommended: not as much to protect yourself but others. In other words: people who don't only care about themselves practice social distancing. Take care!

Vaccine is not 100% effective.

That's true. Nor does wearing seatbelts in the car prevent you from dying when your car gets hit by a train but it significantly reduces the chances of getting killed in a car crash. 'Not 100% effective' does not equal 'is totally useless'.

I’m a firm believer in the placebo effect!

I like the band! But yes, the placebo effect is very real. So is COVID-19: 'Even if people are not at high risk of Covid themselves, their friends or family could be.'. So, even if you are immune yourself, you could still infect others when you're a carrier. I'm not willing to take that risk and will do anything to lower it, because I do not only care about myself.
