Oh, wow. I can almost guarantee it's an accident, though. As much as you would like to believe it, the leaders in the Republican party are not Nazis. They are fellow Americans who want what's best for the country.

I’m in the more “accident” camp too, and I don’t want to believe anyone is a Nazi. However, the pressure Donald Trump applied to try to overturn the last election was unprecedented and appalling. The majority of the Republican Party was perfectly fine with it, even after Jan. 6.

I completely understand Trump's, and much of the party's, paranoia about it, even though I believe they were wrong. While I don't believe there was election changing fraud, the media refused to cover even small cases of fraud that people found (such as what Steven Crowder went and exposed just the other day). This combined with our already-established distrust of the media and the democratic party made it hard for some people, including Trump, to trust that the voting machines weren't hacked. Internet censorship made that even worse, since instead of claims getting refuted or proven with facts, they were just hidden, which lead o heavy suspicion. Also, January 6th wasn't planned to be a riot by Trump, so it shouldn't change what people think of him. He called for it to be "Peaceful and Patriotic," but a few angry radicals who did a terrible thing then gave the hundreds of thousands of peaceful demonstrators a bad name.

People can disagree and still work together. We oughta set an example for that here even if our politicians don't in real life. Unlike so many others you appear very willing to at least hear me out and have a levelheaded discussion.

Not to mention, the Nazis seem to have gone away. If that issue's off the table as a result the stream will be a lot less divisive, I predict.

Who I vote for isn’t so important. I’m just one vote after all — it’s more about what I tell my bloc to do.

And I know we don’t agree on everything, but if I feel like I have a good working relationship with you then I’m comfortable giving you some support. We may disagree on some free speech stuff, but we had an open and fair discussion about it here, and at least you weren’t part of the hardcore wing trying to #cancel me from the game (which was its own kind of free speech violation if you think about it).

Politics isn’t, or shouldn’t be an all-or-nothing game. We’ve lost the art of reaching across the aisle as a country and I hope we can try to re-establish some of that spirit here on the PRESIDENTS stream.

If so that is a dealbreaker. Richard tried to impeach me twice, tried to impeach LaChancla, jumps on every little thing, there’s credible evidence he rigged elections with alts and no telling what he would do next time. The stream is a circular firing squad with him around. Can’t get anything done.

Let me know — if you can commit to not appointing Richard then I will keep some votes in your camp. Enough for you to stay on top, most likely.

I do have a question- who is DummyThicks? I never saw him around on the stream before. If he agrees with you more and would do what you want, then he would probably be the better option for you to vote. It's not that I don't appreciate the votes, but I am worried about people voting for me under a false impression that I would do what they want, when that's just not true. I was very close to supporting Wubbzy even though I know he’s a Republican. Since I think he listens and is fair. Sadly he didn’t get back to me in time, but I do think he should serve in the next government whoever it is.

What I’m not okay with is the Nazi crap (seems to have ended thanks to global Mod intervention, but not because the stream mods handled it correctly) and the RichardChill impeachment-mad cartel. They seem to think I want to ban average Republicans and libertarians; that’s not true at all. If I did try to do that I would be impeached and rightly so. All I ever did was sling some mud at Envoy because of his Nazi policy, because I disagreed with it. And it is fair to call attention to policy differences. However. I never called him a Nazi and don’t believe he is. RichardChill’s misrepresentations on that point are infuriating.

Nevertheless I stepped down even though the evidence against me was flimsy and IMO 100% legal under the mudslinging rule. I saw Richard has been accused of worse now with the alt accounting business. If there’s any truth to that he should apologize and step down.

Umm the like is not working for me. Either way, I remember seeing that stream (I'm pretty sure it's this one) star up last year, but it seemed too serious. I really just liked the fun of the Imgflip presidents stream before all of the drama that's happened, but I will still implement the policies I ran on while trying to bring that fun back into it. I'm thinking of doing surprise events such as Imgflip parties, where there is a random meme that people chat in the comments of and just try to have fun. I'll have to see how it goes.

My theory (our theory, counting Beez) is that if you get rid of Nazis, hate speech, etc. then the worst drama goes away. There will always be some drama in a roleplay government, but if the participants don’t feel like they have to debunk Holocaust denial every day and fight for their human rights then it should reduce to a normal level.

I’m a serious person and a lawyer by training. I believe a roleplay government should have a Constitution, real rules for processes like impeachments agreed upon in advance rather than made up on the fly, etc. But it seems here most just want to get to the fun of elections right away, and who can blame them? It’s just a meme website anyway. However, I feel part of my responsibility being here is to help teach civic skills to the next generation.

Here's the thing about "hate speech"- i believe it is much better for people with hateful ideas to get refuted by other people instead of being censored. Hiding an idea won't make it go away. Refutation will. As i mentioned in my comment on the other thread, someone in power censoring am idea leads people to believe that the idea has merit and that it is harmful to the current regime. That's why I believe in more speech, not less, and it has to apply even to people I absolutely disagree with.

I used to think this way. I was more libertarian in my younger years.

However, hard experience has taught me that persuasion just doesn’t really happen. “Refutations” can be supported by bulletproof evidence, argued logically and flawlessly, and still not matter. Because they are not thinking logically. They are reasoning with their racist, fearful reptile brains that evolved before we were capable of the higher-level reasoning that makes us fully human. When they are in this mode, the M00nMans and the like are sadly pretty much unreachable.

You can debate with them until you’re blue in the face. The danger then becomes that in even agreeing to debate with them, you’re granting their Nazi ideas legitimacy. An equal footing to your own. The “both sides” fallacy then takes hold. By merely suggesting the Holocaust never happened, people who aren’t well-informed start to wonder.

That said, I did in fact debate endlessly with MoonMan on the PRESIDENTS stream in order to put him in his place — at great personal cost (I sacrificed hours and hours of my personal life, because I care about Imgflip).

The debate did not change any minds. All it did was generate the evidence that the global mods needed to support banning his account. As far as victories go, that’s about as good as it gets dealing with Nazis.

And my reward for all this was painting a target on my own back, slimed as an “authoritarian” and defenestrated from PRESIDENTS.

I would still do it all again, because keeping the Nazis away from impressionable young minds matters more than my personal reputation on a stream or a website.

People like moon mane and WN may be hopeless, but I am talking about people who would dismiss their ideas if they weren't censored. As I said before, censoring an idea, no matter how terrible the idea, can make people believe it has merit. Censorship can end up just radicalizing a bunch of people and be counter-productive.
