(Shared this before, but I really can't find a more ironic moment.)
A few years ago, I had a Ben Carson mini-bio up on display at my desk (working at a Uni) for Black History Month, and a professor saw it and said, "No........" I asked, "What?" He asked why I had him up. I said, "Think of him as the neurosurgeon and his contributions to science, not just the politician..." After a bit of back and forth, he told me no more Ben Carson's or Clarence Thomas's (I guess I had it up before then, and he just wasn't around to scold me).
What makes this even funnier was that he's white and (for those of you who may not know) I'm black/hispanic. I told my mother (black) and we had a GREAT laugh when she pointed out the irony.
