Pat Sajak has hosted over 35 years and over 7,000 episodes. He screws up once. You want to cancel his work, his life? Get a grip!

Pat Sajak is the hired help. Game shows work because of the premise, the writers, and the contestants. We watch to see people like us win. The hosts are there to keep things moving along. Sajak says stuff like this all the time. He gets away with it because he only hurts the feelings of small minorities. But, the contestants he ridicules, who are already hyper-nervous, don't have the platform to call him out. They are his captives. He knows he can tweak them and get away with it because they are pressured to not say or do anything that might get them kicked off the show. He is the worst kind of bully.

Your experience watching is different from mine. I don't recall other examples of this kind of mess up.

Sajak has made a living with humor that makes fun of others since his days on the Armed Forces Radio Morning Show in Vietnam. It is his "schtick." But, there is a difference between an offhand comment about someone's hairdo or shirt, and mocking a physical handicap. How would you feel if he told a kid in a wheelchair to hop up onstage? There are limits.

My ex-wife was the Senior Contestant Coordinator for one of the most popular game shows of all time, which featured one of the best hosts ever. He never made a negative comment about anyone on the air. Nobody had to tell him that other people have feelings, too.

Game Show Contestants are "us" only braver, sometimes smarter, and with bigger dreams. Most of the ones I have met over the years can really use the money they are trying to win. A contestant with a speech impediment has overcome a lot, just to try out for a show. Mustering the courage to go on national TV, makes them special. Having the host ridicule them, takes away all of that special "shine." Every person who has a speech impediment who saw themself in that contestant was trivialized by Sajak at the same time. And, it is not an important part of the show. It is just something Sajak does that is wrong. There is nothing right or good or special about a big star using their status and access to our homes to belittle someone who has no control over how they were born. I am sorry for you if you think that is OK.

You are mistaken. I never thought it was ok. It isn't. I think is unfortunate and Sajak needs to apologize. I do not believe it is unforgivable.

We agree. He needs to apologize. There is a scripture that says, "And sin no more." That would be the first step toward forgiveness. He does not need my forgiveness.

Easy snowflake, people are human. You expectation that no one can make a mistake is wrong and you have made quite a few just on this site.

If caring about the feelings of people with physical handicaps and expecting one of the most highly paid professional communicators to exhibit the same concern makes me a "snowflake," so be it.

What should his punishment be oh Larry king of wokeness.

He needs to stop short of making his sarcastic remarks about peoples' physical handicaps. That would be good.

So would a simple apology suffice? Or does he need to be cast down to the depths of le Israel hell?

An apology is not necessary if he would self-regulate better. Did you mean Lee Israel? He does not need my forgiveness.

No, I meant liberal hell

There is no hell, except the one you choose to live in.

For people who don’t believe in hell you sure like to tell people to go there.

Harry Truman said, "I don't give people Hell, I give them the truth. To them, it seems like Hell."

Great quote from a great American that you leftists probably want to erase from our history because he used an atomic bomb.
